The Cecina theater was born as an auditorium of the nearby school complex which housed, as today, high school and middle schools in order to host performances, end-of-year essays, student assemblies, cultural meetings.
Its transformation into a city theater took place in the Eighties when the Municipality intervened to renovate it: it was then, in 1983, that it was named after Eduardo De Flippo and the first season of shows was dedicated to the famous Neapolitan author and actor.
With the subsequent renovation, the theater was enlarged and equipped with new environments (in blue in the plan below): a large atrium, the multipurpose foyer, the ticket office and the cafeteria.
