Dàn Kafe

Dàn kafe was born in Cecina (LI) in Via L. Da Vinci num. 3/5. Inaugurated in May 2010, the restaurant looks like Cafeteria-Drinks-Bookshop: a meeting place from dawn to after dinner. That’s right, from the early hours of the morning we can delight our palate with artisan croissants, the refined savory where the raw material is the protagonist; all accompanied by five selections of single-origin Arabica coffee one hundred percent ground on the spot, a large selection of leaf tea, homemade chocolate in a cup, or a centrifuged fresh fruit and vegetables. All served directly at the counter or comfortably at the table, perhaps in the tea room near the library, or on the outdoor terrace in the shade of jasmine. From midday on, first courses or delicious sandwiches. In short, a place that combines and blends the passion for an excellent espresso, with that of a steaming cup of tea that transmits peace in the company of a friend or a good book.

And for the aperitif a selection of bubbles and local wines. On weekends and holidays the protagonist is the HAPPY DAN HOUR: a large buffet with various finger food, snacks, express dishes, cold cuts cut on the spot, theme nights with tastings of Italian and local excellence. In the reading room, a refined library where the theme of travel and food and wine merge, bringing the reader with his mind away from the busy life, perhaps dreaming of the next vacation.

During the year various book presentations with authors, conferences, meetings, chess tournaments. After dinner, Dàn Kafe offers its customers a wide range of refined spirits such as rum, vodka, gin, calvados, whiskey, cognac … Particularly the decor of the room with photos, paintings and above all objects “captured” by the patron around the world, a multi-ethnic environment to be observed slowly.

JAZZ music is the essential setting of the environment: in fact there are two shows (free admission) dedicated to Jazz Live with artists also at an international level. The first in winter (November/December on Saturday from 18:00) and the second in summer (July/August on Friday from 21:00).
